Coaching Philosophy:

Erin has had the opportunity of coaching many amazing riders of all ages from beginner to advanced. Through these opportunities she pays close attention to how each rider learns, focuses, and progresses. Through this she has studied many coaching theories and principles including sports psychology and human kinetics.

In coaching, the coach must know what riders are up against and the obstacles you may encounter. We also must understand our athletes whether they are on or off the horse, their personalities, goals, thinking habits, and why they are in the sport they are in. Erin always reminds her students that some of the most challenging and hard days are the best, because that is where champions are made.

Some of Erin's Coaching styles include:
  • Performance Coaching
  • Vision Coaching
  • Holistic Coaching (Viewing the horse and/or rider as a whole)
  • Solution Focused Coaching
  • Intuitive Coaching

Some key points Erin focuses on when coaching her students are:

  • Mental Toughness
  • Psychology
  • Rebounding from Injuries
  • Overcoming Sports Fears and Blocks
  • Mental Imagery
  • Goals
  • Confidence on and off the horse
  • Positivity
  • Horsemanship

"Do not pay attention to the people around you. When you walk into the ring and compete against yourself and no one else, you will come out on top." - Erin McNew
