Training Philosophy:

 

At ECM Equestrian, Erin treats every horse like it is her own. She believes a solid foundation is the key to make a successful horse. She strives to create a strong and confident horse to achieve any goal set for it. Part of Erin's belief in training is that you must work with the horse through proven methods of communication and understanding; and, that the horse does not learn through pain or fear, but instead through a patient persistence and release of pressure. Erin feels that the horse and athlete should work together to achieve their goals. The rider must be the athlete that the horse already is which means the rider must be mentally and physically conditioned for their sport. The rider and horse should make a gradual process of moving up the levels. Erin believes in riding in harmony with the horse instead of against it. Erin's philosophy is to listen to the horse. The horse will tell where his abilities will lead him. Erin believes that good horsemanship must come before anything else.

Not only training, but healthcare plays a huge role in the treatment of our horses. We cannot neglect our horses physically or mentally and expect them to reach their full potential in any sport. Erin treats all horses like a top-notch athlete taking all things into perspective when caring for her horses rather that is through nutrition, the fit of the saddle, the shape and health of the horses body, or the happiness of the horse in general. 

 

At ECM Equestrian we provide training and showing in an array of disciplines including dressage, western dressage, sorting, stock horse, sport horse, hunter under saddle, hunter jumper, and other areas of training expertise.
